Dena has been working as a professional fine artist since 2005 and began tattooing in 2013. She found her beginning in classical realism portraiture in both pencil and ink with a focus on darker themes, such as the occult, demons and Hell. While she often uses the human skull and skeleton in her work, she finds the association with death secondary to it being a beautiful and core part of the human body. Dena continues to partake in art shows and commissioned work when not tattooing.
